“A ira de Karu Sakaibê” é um projeto de filme docu-ficcional, no estilo realismo fantástico, que convida o público a uma jornada pelas aldeias munduruku, na Amazônia. Produzido em parceria com o coletivo audiovisual de mulheres indígenas Daje Kepap Epy, o filme traça paralelos entre mito e realidade para contar a história de um povo que luta pela preservação de sua cultura e de seu território frente a ganância dos pariwat (não-indígenas). Ao longo do Rio Tapajós, as viajantes vão coletando diferentes versões do mito de origem de seu povo Munduruku. A medida que a investigação avança, as indígenas assumem o protagonismo da narrativa e a fronteira entre real e imaginário vai ficando cada vez mais difusa, terminando em paralelos surpreendentes.

“A ira de Karu Sakaibê” is a docu-fiction film project, in the style of magical realism, that invites the audience on a journey through the Munduruku villages in the Amazon. Produced in partnership with the indigenous women’s audiovisual collective Daje Kepap Epy, the film draws parallels between myth and reality to tell the story of a people fighting to preserve their culture and territory in the face of the greed of the pariwat (non-indigenous people). Along the Tapajós River, the travelers collect different versions of the origin myth of their Munduruku people. As the investigation progresses, the indigenous women take center stage in the narrative and the boundary between the real and the imaginary becomes increasingly blurred, ending in surprising parallels.
